Backed by more than a decade of experience in the medical transcription field, Ms. Myla Rose Reyes, managing director of local MT company Total Transcription Solutions Inc. (TTSI), is now at the helm of the Medical Transcription Industry Association of the Philippines, Inc (MTIAPI).

Elected to the association’s presidency in June of this year, Ms. Reyes previously served as MTIAPI’s vice-president since 2003. Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Ms. Reyes was equipped with the necessary medical background when she began her career as a full-time medical transcriptionist in 1994. Working her way up from quality control head, training supervisor, to unit manager of the medical transcription division, she was able to gather ample experience with her four year-stay at Innodata Philippines, Inc.

In 1998, Ms. Reyes became vice-president of the transcription operations at another medical transcription firm, Outsource Transcription Philippines, Inc. where, reporting directly to the president, she oversaw the entire Manila transcription facility. In 2002, she then joined TTSI where she was held the operations manager position before she became the company’s managing director, a position she still holds at present. Ms. Reyes has also been a freelance medical transcription operations consultant since 2002 where she, until now, assists start-up MT companies in developing strategic plans for growth in terms of operations and marketing.

Now with her relatively new responsibility as MTIAPI president, Ms. Reyes has expressed intent on pushing for the goals and objectives of the association to lead, unite, and promote the Philippine medical transcription industry.
